Bboy-B, the HipHop Preservationist. BboyB is Hip Hop, a warrior-dancer, a painter, a writer, photographer, an activist and simply an artist. BboyB is a leading expert in Chicago Hip Hop history for the generation that started the culture in the early 80s. BboyB’s well-known Super-Crew called ABC (Artistic Bombing Crew) was formed in 1982 with top graffiti artist, bboys, DJs and Emcees. Shortly after that BboyB dubbed the Logan Square Eagle as the first true all-city Writers Bench (still active today) where all elements are practiced. He established a historic and highly recognized underground cultural newspaper called the Fly Paper in 1991 that benefits the preservation of the Hip Hop Kulture. BboyB has written many politically charged opinions and has been involved in the yearly invitational live painting graffiti exhibition called Meeting of Styles.
He is also writing a Chicago Hip Hop history book that skews towards Bboys and writers (the forgotten forms of Hip Hop). Recently, he has collaborated with over 50 other graffiti writers and has held a few Graffiti jean jacket exhibitions throughout the Chicago area.
I'm a true school Hip Hop MC/DJ. I'm one fourth of the Hip Hop quartet Endangered Species. I'm strongly into the culture of Hip Hop. You won't hear a lot of "look at what I got", "Do this dance" in my rhyme schemes. I think music should be timeless and not just for the moment. It should always evoke feelings and touch you in some way. While in my group I had the opportunity to grow as artist. We had the chance to open for legends such as Common, Dj Kool Herc, Too Short, Slum Village, Digable Planets and others. I just released my first solo album entitled "Sensory Overload" I hope with my music I can touch someone and bring part of my culture to them.
